Hospital experience

We took Maya to the pediatrician here after the second day of vomiting, diarrhea, and not eating. I never expected him to say to admit her to the hospital!

So, Maya and I were in the hospital for 2 days. It turned out to be a bacterial infection, which is easy to get here with the filth all around. Glad that’s over! It was a little scary not knowing the language and they don’t allow men to be there more than a couple hours a day on the maternity ward where they put us. But the Lord helped us through!

The first night, a nurse took Maya from me and didn’t tell me what they were going to do. So, as I stood in the hallway crying and praying, I contemplated leaving. Nanda was doing the registration. I just prayed and the Lord gave me peace and strength. He also put us in the room with an Indian lady who spoke English! I told her that God had put me in there with her because I was really scared. She helped me talk to the nurses. Praise God for His faithfulness and presence!

Even though many things could have been so much better, like the sanitation for instance, I am very thankful that they have the capability to IV fluids and also for Maya’s pediatrician whom I have come to trust.

Praise you, Lord, for your goodness!
